Happy 90th Birthday Rudy! 90th? Wait what?

Rudy and my dad were friends and co-workers as photographers for the Beaver County Times.  When my dad died suddenly in 1962, Rudy stepped in to be there for each and every one of our family.  There are so many good memories but I am particularly fond of the times he patiently drove us around every Christmas eve to look at lights (a tradition I keep with my own children) and the stories that give me a window into “back in the day.” Rudy even took/gave me my wedding photos (except when he walked me down the aisle)!  He inspires me to be a better person.  So this amazing man celebrated his 90th birthday with friends and family this past weekend.  All my life I have been fascinated by his tales of Navy life in WWII, meeting presidents (Truman, JFK, Ford, Carter), woodworking, good fishing spots, and, of course, the photographs, those amazing pictures…  Because I have a dedicated printer for edible ink, I am able to take any computer generated image and transfer it to a cookie.  See what you think of Rudy.  Still a handsome devil, eh?!

Career Day Thank You

Every January, Williamsville East High School has a Career Day.  They bring in business and community members as well as university kids (East alumni) to give the students an idea about different professions and what college life will be like.  I’ve been making a little “thank you” bag for those presenting for the last couple of years.  A little sugar goes a long way.
