Well, sort of. Cake is awesome but I am much better at baking cookies. So when a friend’s kiddo wanted to take treats in to school for her 10th birthday, the phrase ‘let them have cake and eat it too’ came to mind. Hopefully no (french) revolution will follow…
How do you prevent the candles from breaking when you transfer off your cookie sheet? I’m working in graduation caps and the tassels are driving me insane. 1/2 of my first batch ended up broken. 😦
Oh no! That is totally frustrating! I have not had breakage problems with the graduation caps so I am not sure why it is happening for you. I do make my cookie thick- 3/8 to 1/2″. I also do not refrigerate my dough before rolling it out even though most recipes say to do so. There are great cookie instructions on Sweetsugarbelle and Lilaloa sites that may make helpful suggestions. I must admit, though, I have learned by trial and error (and video tutorials); I am not a trained, proper baker. In any case, good luck Amy. Hope these tips helped!
