Thanksgiving Gratitude (with Attitude?)

My favorite holiday.  Family, friends, food, and a long couch on which to take a nap.  Oh, um, and a little odd sense of humor 😉

Decree of thanks to all who follow this blog.  Especially thankful for our 2 daughters (without whom I wouldn’t be creating cookies or have learned how to blog.)

Lastly, I’d like to serve up some gratitude:

Happy Anniversary times 61!

Can you imagine being married 61 years?  Quite the accomplishment so I wanted the cookies at their party to be sweet and elegant yet celebratory!  I used ivory and a dusty rose (dark pink with a splash of ivory) and some gold highlights to that end.

The customer gave me this photo of Nonna and Grandpa.  I wanted a lace like frame so I pulled out a sugar sheet and a trusty Martha Stewart edge punch and voila!

Nonna is said to make the best meatballs in town and Grandpa the same in wine.

Sweet Sixteen

Time becomes supersonic in speed and, sometimes, how you know is when kids you know hit milemarker birthdays.  How could it be that Katherine is sixteen? There goes another “little one” off to the DMV…  Here was my way of helping her sixteenth birthday be (literally) SWEET!

New Year’s Eve Clock

Tic.tock, waiting for that midnight kiss.  This clock fulfilled my requirements:  completed ever so quickly and able to feed a lot of kids.  There are about 60 cookies on the tray and the glaze icing is super simple (powdered sugar, water or milk, and coloring- only the “hello 2014” is royal icing).  Deliciously counting the minutes until the new year.

Thanks for a great 2013.  May every year be better than the next!
