There is no way to candy-coat this; I’ll just have to say it out loud. MY MOM IS THE SWEETEST! Happy Mother’s Day 2016!

I can tell I am (not so) quietly climbing the age ladder. Two friends turned 60 this year. Yikes.
Yogi’s wife wanted to remind him that he was 60 and still thrifty, frugal and fabulous… This family always has me smiling with their colorful and bold personalities so I hope they felt the love in my attempt to reflect that!
Some of these cookies were going to make their way to India (thus the henna theme).

The other big 6.OH set was shipped off to Stockholm. Stefan and I have been friends since university. We have visited each other as often as possible over the years. Stefan is such an excellent golfer that my first thought was to play up that theme but I opted for (english) puns about his birthday (wish I learned enough Swedish to use their idioms). The one portrait tile is in honor of 1981 Stefan, when I first visited Sweden. We ended up near the arctic circle to attend a traditional Swedish mid-summer celebration; Stefan had a big blonde mustache at the time and he wore a black leather jacket and cap as we danced the (not really ever dark) evening away!

Okay. This birthday girl is one of the most adorable ever, full of personality and charm. Her mom wanted something sweet and age appropriate for her gymnastics themed party. Both boys and girls would be attending the celebration so I included a cartwheel guy too. The little girl designs were purchased through sweet Preciosa Barbaran’s Etsy shop, 1EverythingNice.

Background stencils came from The Cookie Countess and Killer Zebras. This gold was Wilton’s gold mist (found at WalMart or Michael’s).

The 5 designs:

Ohhh Charlotte, you’re one of the sweetest 6 year olds on the planet:

Yeah. We’ve all been there. That day where nothing goes right. It seems the odds are ever NOT in your favor. Well, let’s change that ‘oh crappy day’ into ‘oh happy day’ with this play on (some of) our favorite emoji.

my nerdy favorite, of course:

This set was made for a French teacher who is welcoming a little girl into their lives. The client wanted some french words; as I do not know French and sometimes question my English, I hope I got it right. The struggle is real.

A ‘force’ to be reckoned with, in a galaxy far far away, this Star Wars birthday came complete with party hats….

Once a nerd, always a nerd. And for us geeks, there is no day like Pi Day- because math is the only subject that COUNTS…

It’s a BIG DEAL when friends that you play cards with are such fun and so appreciated! Here’s a nice way to let a couple know that they are the king and queen of the card group. A sweet way for the client to say thank you? Yep, ACE’d it.

Not sure of what cookie favors to take into school for her daughter’s birthday, the client sent me several photos of her incredibly adorable six year old for inspiration. One of the photos showed her hugging her favorite stuffed animal bunny. Bunny bonanza! I sketched the idea, passed it by my customer, and was good to go. The bunny cutter was from the MeriMeri 2015 Easter collection. I happened to have a small carrot from R&M Internationla Corp‘s mini veggie cutter set that went perfectly for the look of the favor I was trying to achieve. I am still giggling about the carrot bow tie I gave him…

Here are the bunnies in process. Only 4 colors needed.

And the final presentation of the favors…

I also made 5 folk bunnies for the family to just eat at home (they are amazing and I love my repeat customers!). Playing up the texture…

The photos backgrounds are from the wonderful InkandElmBackdrops.
This set of cookies went out as a thank you to a mortgage company. Several were personalized using the names of the employees and the rest were a ‘calculated risk.’
