Old Fashioned Christmas Cookies

My Mom would be happy- cookies made using her vintage cutters from the 1950’s.  I grew up with these shapes, this type of glaze, accompanied with jimmies and colored sugars.  It’s like going home.

Then there is the reason for the season.  Some straw in the manager and a very bright star.

Thanksgivukkah

Do you prefer those potatoes mashed or shredded?  Lotta or latke?  Traditions of family, food and thanks not merging again for tens of thousands of years.  I am so incredibly lucky to have my funny, smart, loyal family.  And, of course, we love our food.  Fabulous, fantastic food.  Hope you and yours enjoy too!

Halloween 2013

I’ve been feeling a black, white and orange.  Wanted to try a couple designs that I haven’t yet seen on cookies.  Inspiration came from pillows, pirates and places in the far, far recesses of my mind. The witch’s broom was made using the new line of confetti (shredded edible wafer paper) from http://www.ink4cakes.com/Confetti-Colored-Edible-Papers_c_57.html.  Oh the ideas….
