Slim Gym

I am not a gym rat but I have a “thing” for dance-y group classes. The more choreography, the better.  Funky, with a side of shake.that.thang, is optimal.  So I thought our AMAZING instructor (with her flawless queueing and unmatched choreography) and her devoted hoot and hollerers deserved some inspired cookies; the brownies were dairy and gluten free to accommodate specific needs in the room. Some of the shirts have been modeled by fellow dancers and some were just one’s I would buy if they were available… Woot woot.

FALLing for you

Autumn, in all it’s splendor, is my favorite time of the year.  To celebrate the colors of the season, I baked some “autumnal” mini cookies to hand out to the neighbors! Just a little color to enjoy before we quiet down for winter.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

These cookies are a tribute to one AMAZING woman who, while fighting breast cancer, continued to train and successfully competed in an iron man competition.  She then topped that off with a marathon.  Some people defy the imagination.

When she was going through her treatment, she and her friends would wear pink wigs in solidarity and they had little paper baseball caps on a stick that were part of their celebrating “fun without cancer.”  I can cer vive.jpg

Law and Order

Yes, I really do know the most incredible people.  Seriously.  Accomplished, interesting, nuanced folks.  Dan is one of those “complete package” guys.  He has made me chortle with laughter, tear up at his kindness, and shake my head at what can fit in his 24 hour day.  So, my word play cohort, go forth and rock Stanford Law School!law.jpg

St Patrick’s Day 2017

Does life ever get the best of you and you get from point A to point B just in time? That was my March and most of April.  Busy is not bad, just lamenting that there are only 24 hours in the day (or that I could be a bit more efficient?).  Back to prioritizing blog posts…

The cookie platter from St Patrick’s Day showcased some delightful stencils from the ever amazing Killer Zebras.

Southwestern Christmas

The annual girlfriends Christmas party had a southwestern food theme this year.  I asked the hostess if she wanted Christmas or southwestern themed cookies.  Both? she inquired.  Why, yes, we can.

NYC to Denver

At one time, they all lived in the same apartment building in the Big Apple. Now the family that has since moved to Denver and wants to entice the other families to do the same. Below is the “cookie postcard” illustrating what Denver has to offer (some adult content, they wanted to include a few of the high life…).

GOURDgeous

Let’s talk about mistakes. I work incredibly hard not to make them. But I did. In my haste (4 different sets were on our dining room table that day) to get a friend her birthday cookies on time, I totally misspelled a play on words.  No pun pride that day.  Luckily, it was a dear friend and I gave them to her anyway.  She said she didn’t even notice (that’s how good a friend she is).  Despite my spelling fail, the gourds in the set turned out beautifully and the pun was perfect for the season.  And, here’s the most important part, the cookies are always tasty.

Bottom line, I just want to pass along a hug to those of you who like things just so, who strive for perfection.  It’s frustrating when things don’t go according to plan but mostly it’s US that care so deeply about perceived imperfection.  Others, not so much.  Here’s to continuing on. May the rest your day still be GOURDeous.

Bye Bye Bye

How can you be incredibly, at the deepest darkest depths, sad and yet excited at the same time? Well, Megan is one of my favorite Zumba instructors (and I AM PICKY about my instructors!); this very same Megan decided to adventure in Spain! As in a permanent move!!! So excited for her.  So sad for us.  This was the platter I made for her before she left.  Puns included.  As always.  Hope you’re loving life over there, Megan! Miss you!
