Happy Pi day my fellow geeks! Twice today, the calendar/time will read 3.14.15 9:26 (am or pm)! A perfect Pi day!! As always, my take on this “epic” Pi day is from a slightly different angle; hope these goes down as easy as pi(e). Oh, and have a relatively happy birthday Albert Einstein.

Thanksgiving Gratitude (with Attitude?)
My favorite holiday. Family, friends, food, and a long couch on which to take a nap. Oh, um, and a little odd sense of humor 😉
Trekkie turkey. Live long and prosper?
T.Hanks.giving thanks. (so sorry Tom Hanks. your acting and name are perfect.)
Decree of thanks to all who follow this blog. Especially thankful for our 2 daughters (without whom I wouldn’t be creating cookies or have learned how to blog.)
Lastly, I’d like to serve up some gratitude:
Geology Rocks
‘Punny’ thing about most any topic is that you can find a play on almost every word. That was true for this graduate interested in geology! Although my knowledge is middle school level at best, this ‘rock solid’ theme yielded a plethora of ideas….unfortunately more than I could use on this order. In the cookie business, one must keep to the customer’s budget . I might be ‘boulder ‘ than most to say but I believe she was still happy with the results!

The colors requested were electric green and bright pink. I did not have those colors in jimmies so I made my own!
I went to a Garden Party
I have this friend- Kathy- who is smart, kind, funny, clever, incredibly resourceful, etc etc. You get the idea why any and everyone would want to hang with her! But in the summertime, it is extra lovely to be her buddy because she grows this incredible garden. No little plot with a handful of peppers and some tomato plants- rather it is a tilled and crop-rotated masterpiece. A HUGE undertaking from which we all benefit! so…I thought it apropos to make her birthday cookies that would help her ‘veg out!’ with something other than veggies. Surprise, surprise- the puns are back.
What got me thinking about this theme was a trip to Crate and Barrel. They had some vegetable plates that were humor provoking. It doesn’t take much to send me in that general direction. Some of the puns I had seen on-line in various places (wish I had the memory to tell you exactly where) and some just randomly popped into my head. Hope you find them “wet your p(l)ants” funny!!

Be AUDIT you can be
Party time for a retiring manager of auditors. Yep, I was stumped for a couple of days on what cookies to make for this celebration. They didn’t want undo emphasis on the retirement aspect and no teasing about the number of years ‘experience.’ The only specifications were to make the cookies bright and happy. The client liked the general party hat and balloon idea.
The only other AUDITacious detail was that the retiring gentleman (and others in upper management) all went by their 3 initials; these were used to sign just about everything. So I incorporated that. That’s how I roll (the dough). Only the ‘write’ kind of custom cookies.
You are Loved Beyond Measure
Father’s Day 2014
My hubby rock and rolled it back in the day. He is still going strong and is so much a great papa. But I couldn’t help but poke a little fun about the changes over the years (um, look at me calling the kettle black…). The concept all started mulling around in the back of my head in December of 2013 when I saw John Atkinson’s cartoon about ZZ.z top. Please, please, please go to his blog site, Wrong Hands! His sense of humor is downright brilliant and his cartoons oh so clever! You will be chortling all day! Thank you John for allowing me to “cookiefy” your original design and art work!
And happy father’s/dad’s/papa’s day all you handsome ROCKers out there! Rock and Roll forever!
Pi Day 2014!
This is the one day to be completely “irrational!” Let’s hear it for never ending Pi and all of it’s crazy connections (NPR has some links to crazy Pi facts and activities!). The Pi platter included pumpkin and key lime pie, a cow pie, pirates and and a concoction or circular area and circumference.

And, in memory of a great physicist and mathematician, happy birthday Albert E! May we all go forth and passionately create our own theory of what is relative!
Centerpieces for an Engineers Ball
Huh? When did engineers start having dinner dances? Apparently it is a tradition for the UB student engineers. I knew one of the lead organizers and he knew my cookies. This led to some fun centerpiece karma. I made cookies for half of the 30 tables as there were about 15 engineering clubs involved… I kind.a added one or two more to feed my own pun addiction. I have a “pun” problem. A really, truly, serious problem.
So I don’t have pictures of all of the tables because blithering idiot here forgot the camera when venue set-up time rolled around. The few I have are from my phone and the quality is not optimal. I did take some pictures before I left the house. So here they are!
Such Chemistry between Us (AIChemical Engineers)
Flying High (Aeronautics & Astronautics) -still favor the “paper” airplane…

There were also cookies for Black engineers, Hispanic engineers, Society of Women Engineers, Sustainable world, Biomedical engineering, Industrial engineering, etc. Drat. No pictures of those. Need to plan more time for photos …
