You Rock Paper Scissors

I wish I had thought this idea up on my own. I saw it somewhere on the internet last year (sorry I am not crediting the “author”; let me know if you know who that is); the idea has been in the back recesses of my mind ever since waiting to be cookie.fied.  It works beautifully as a Valentines set. We’re (not) playing games this February 14th!

We Wish You a Dairy Christmas

Just in QUESO you’re going to a holiday wine and cheese party… Or if you have a friend that is a cheesemonger (I do). Really, really- it’s NACHO fault if you are shaking your head; I CAMEMBERT when I didn’t take advantage of every opportunity to make a play on words.

Southwestern Christmas

The annual girlfriends Christmas party had a southwestern food theme this year.  I asked the hostess if she wanted Christmas or southwestern themed cookies.  Both? she inquired.  Why, yes, we can.

Who doesn’t think of cow skulls with festive garland when Christmas comes to mind? I mean, really…SW Xmas 1.jpg

Happy MEOWoween

Oh my, all the PAWSibilities when it comes to black cats and halloween.  It’s a FURmiliar TAIL of word play and topic.  This one is LITTERally PURRfect.  Hope your Halloween is full of wonFURful treats and CLAWver treasures.

Bone Dry

Maybe this isn’t Arizona but Colorado has been pretty, darned dry lately.  The only plants that seem to be thriving are the cacti.  Continuing in my skeleton groove, I thought it only fair to bring these bad-to-the-bone cactus to Halloween life.  Even the orange and black/terra cotta pots kept it hauntingly festive.  I can definitely say that the one on the right is a spiny cactus. Hope they tickle your funny bone…

Cookie cutters were from BobbisCookieCutters, SheyBCookieCutters, and TrulyMadPlastics.

Skeleton Keys

Another play on words??? So shocking.  Let me know if you are getting tired of them. Apparently I never do.  And I am kinda pleased with the random mermaid skeleton.   Do I even have to say that my mind works in weird ways???

Halloween GoBo 2016

Dear Halloween:  I get it.  You’re spooky. All that creaking and moaning is very expressive.  But I am just not that into the scary vibe.  I’d rather flaunt my haunt with a flavor of fun. Turning word play possibilities into probabilities. Hope we can still be friends.  My best, MMB

Here are the cookies that went out to the GoBoBakeSale this year (fundraiser for ALS).

GRATEst Valentine Ever

Who doesn’t love a cheesy Valentine? Well, this is certainly one of my GRATEst ever.  So zesty.  Ripping the word play to shreds!

Be Mine

A healthy dose of Colorado’s history circles around miners.  Some became quite wealthy and you can still visit their homes today (ie- the unsinkable Molly Brown.  Actually, she was never called Molly until the movie; she went by Maggie or Margaret.). You can also tour the Colorado School of Mines impressive gem and mineral collection for free (and I have).  So when I hear, BE MINE, I don’t think of the usual Valentine.  I went for a more literal interpretation.  Courtesy of those beautiful, rugged Rockies (filled with all kinds of “rocks”), I give you a gem of a valentine… And thank you Neil Young.  Can’t get that song out of my head. Cute presentation thanks to BRPBoxes!

Hope you are the toast of the town this New Years Eve! Here’s to a wonderful and adventurous 2016.

And, I promise, this is my last word play for 2015…   🙂
